  • I co-host (with Ric Allan) the weekly radio show in Los Angeles about computers, Digital Village, which is now in its tenth year on KPFK (90.7fm). We talk about how computers and the Internet affect our society and try really hard to avoid doing too many product reviews.

I've been a volunteer (and sometimes even got paid!) at KPFK for about 20 years. In addition to co-hosting Digital Village, I was the broadcast engineer for many programs there, including more than a decade with the late, great opera program "The Sunday Opera with Fred Hyatt". Along with many others, I helped in developing a successful Apprenticeship Training Program at the station. Over the years I've trained more than a hundred volunteers and staff in production techniques and operation of the radio station's studios. I also managed the first KPFK web site.

  • My "regular" job is at RBJ Computer Systems in Monrovia, California, a company which develops software for the escrow & title industries. I've been employed there since 1990, beginning in the hardware department doing field support for clients. Currently I'm a programmer, managing their web presence and Internet services.

  • I've been in many bands, beginning with The Helen Keller Band in the early 1980s. It's important to point out that these bands almost always have the same members, plus or minus a couple of transients. Also, we've never really played live for the public, but have had some infamous rehearsals. My current band is MFD Slaughterhouse.

  • I've been a movie extra, photographer, recording engineer, stereo salesman, handyman, dishwasher, janitor, car washer, delivery boy, data-entry person, lab assistant, warehouseman, trainer, writer, security guard, valet, usher, and gardener, but never a waiter.

  • I grew up in Burbank. I went to school in Burbank. I still live in Burbank. My friends and I were Burbank before Burbank was cOoL. And guess what? It still isn't cool (no matter what you read), but I'll stick around anyway.

  • Meet Dad, the actor, and Mom, the dancer. Good genes to have lurking about.

  • I have at least three children.

  • I was born in Cedars of Lebanon Hospital, now the home of The Church of Scientology in Los Angeles.

  • Photos? Well kinda...

  • I'm related to Robert Louis Stevenson, but I'm not sure how.

  • I played Dr. Kimble's nephew in the last episode of The Fugitive.

  • I was diagnosed with pharyngeal cancer in April of 1991, diverticulitis in June of 1997 and more cancer in 2001. I can't wait to find out what comes next.

  • I did the est training in Jan/Feb 1981 and hung around Werner's gang through the '80s.

  • If I ever have time for hobbies, it'll be astronomy or maybe theoretical physics. This is probably a good time to mention that I have a very special relationship with a particular Hooker.

  • I can take you on with a stick or a club.
